What you'll do
As a Lead Technologist at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all aspects of the Sainsbury's Argos General Merchandise & Clothing product and technical plans in collaboration with various stakeholders. Your main focus will be on ensuring quality, safety, legality, and supplier performance for your product area. You will work closely with suppliers, Sainsbury's Non-Food support teams, designers, merchandisers, trading teams, Sainsburys Argos Asia, supply chain, and retail teams to deliver high-quality products that meet the required standards. As a lead, you will be accountable for the quality and technical agenda of your product area, satisfying customer expectations, and internal KPIs. Additionally, you will create and manage technical records, resolve product issues, conduct investigations, drive cost reduction initiatives, and maintain commercial awareness. Your role will involve collaborating with different teams, making critical decisions, and ensuring timely product delivery, while upholding our company values and keeping the customer at the core of every decision.
Essential Criteria
Line Management experience and experience in retail or manufacturing of these product types.
