Commercial Manager MEP
Role
Supporting the Commercial Director and providing the link between the Asset Commercial delivery leads, ensuring commercial operations are kept consistent throughout. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills are a must, along with working as part of a team promoting our company culture and values. Will consider problems as a challenge, collect information relevant to the problem, be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause, identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings, and implement action to resolve the problem.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and support the MEP function in the production of Monthly reporting data and liaising with the Project Control Team.
2. Assist with the management of change including active engagement and avoidance of disputes.
3. Lead and liaise with area commercial leads ensuring commercial teams are functional.
4. Lead the monthly cost and performance reviews for each of the Enabling Function.
5. Develop the MEP Functions Specific Cost and performance reporting and tracking as well as lead the resource and subcontract/agency suppliers.
6. Support the MEP in the 6-monthly production of the BUF as defined under the Contract, ensuring alignment with BUF Production.
7. Ensure Contract administration is kept in line with company principles, including the close of NCE.
8. Liaise with Project Controls to ensure data is kept up to date on commercial activities.
9. Liaise with the area teams in relation to the monthly supplier AfP and its production, challenge, and issue.
10. Manage disallowed costs, implementing mitigation measures where applicable.
11. Manage the Staff organograms and ATR's related to these roles and coordinate this against the staff budget.
12. Lead the Coordination of the Cost Verification Framework and liaise with core to get the data from the assets to answer any queries on the CVF.
13. Assist in the risk drawdown process with Project Controls.
Required Qualifications
1. RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent).
2. Full Membership of RICS or CICES (or equivalent).
3. Post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with a demonstrable track record of achievement.
4. Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
5. Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and facilitating collaborative solutions.
6. Demonstrable legal, contractual, and construction knowledge and experience.
7. Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and associated change programmes.
8. Confidence and ability to assert influence.
9. A creative, strategic, and innovative approach to problem-solving.
