Job Title: Principal Engineer – Electrical (Control & Instrumentation)
Location: Various locations across the UK, including Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Filton, Manchester, Portsmouth, Frimley, and Weymouth.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer – Electrical (Control & Instrumentation) to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Control and Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for delivering complex engineering solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake functional design of complex integrated process control systems, providing specialist advice and producing evidence in support of legislative, safety, and technical requirements.
* Liaise with internal and external customers as part of the technical team.
* Articulate and present technical arguments clearly, logically, and simply.
* Execute, evaluate, deliver, and manage complex engineering and/or cross-functional tasks or programmes of work, recognizing stakeholder and customer requirements.
* Lead and develop a small team of Control and Instrumentation engineers.
* Identify and implement opportunities for personal/team development to ensure that professional capability of the business and individual are maintained and improved.
Requirements:
* Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
* Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle phases and technical specialities.
* Significant experience producing and communicating design documentation and artefacts relating to Control Systems.
* Experienced in developing solutions to meet complex technical requirements in a highly regulated industry/environment.
* Obtained or capable of obtaining relevant Professional Registration (CEng).
