As a Business Development Executive at YouGov Sport UK, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our business. You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities within the sport and entertainment sector, exceeding ambitious sales targets and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
1. Lead Generation & Sales Cycle Management:
1. Proactively identify and qualify new business leads within key target sectors (e.g., specific rights holders, brands, media owners or agencies).
2. Develop and execute strategic outreach plans, leveraging research, LinkedIn, and other networking platforms to connect with decision-makers.
3. Conduct in-depth discovery calls and meetings with prospective clients, presenting YouGov Sport's solutions and demonstrating a deep understanding of their business needs.
4. Develop and deliver compelling proposals that align client needs with YouGov Sport's products and services.
5. Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to contract negotiation and successful closure.
6. Collaborate with other commercial team members on cross-selling opportunities and joint pursuits.
2. Client Relationships & Account Management:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
2. Provide ongoing support and consultation to clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
3. Industry Knowledge & Expertise:
1. Maintain a deep understanding of the sports industry landscape, including key trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
2. Develop and share industry insights with the wider YouGov Sport team.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate value propositions to a range of stakeholders.
* Experience in using data and insights to inform sales strategies and decision-making.
* Ability to analyse market trends, identify client needs, and develop effective solutions.
* Experience in using CRM systems to track sales activity, manage leads, and analyse sales performance.
* A genuine interest in sports and a strong understanding of the sports industry landscape.
