I am looking to add to my care team. My team supports me in my daily life and has responsibilities for managing my health needs. I am seeking reliable, organised people who have a professional approach to care and support. You will be working a variety of daytime shifts between the hours of 08.00 - 23.00. On some rare occasions, you may be asked to work a waking night shift. You will be working alongside both family and care team members within a family home. I have a supportive and friendly team who maintain a friendly, positive atmosphere, so we are looking for like-minded people to complete my team.
As a man in my 30's, I like to go out to the cinema and theatre and would like a companionable person who would share my interests in Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. I have a wide taste in music and like reading and have an interest in many things. I like to go out and about for other daily tasks, so it is essential that you have a manual, clean driving licence and have a willingness to drive a wheelchair adapted van. A good working knowledge of driving around Plymouth would be useful.
The role has personal care and medical care responsibilities, so full training will be given in all aspects of the job. You need to be able to keep good records and communicate well with team members. This post would suit someone keen to learn new skills and who is looking for a career in health or social care. It would also suit someone with lived experience of this type of role.
Due to the nature of this position, shadow shifts are given to all new team members: all my team members/family are very supportive and will assist in this. There is also essential additional training, specific to my care needs. There is comprehensive training offered, some is provided by outside organisations both face-to-face and online.
Along with your CV, please write a paragraph about yourself, your interests, and why you would like to be considered for the role.
