Job Title: Art Technician\n Location: Richmond\n Contract Type: Full Time\n Start Date: ASAP\n\nJob Overview:\n\nWe are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Technician to support the Art Department in preparing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining the art studio environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that students have access to high-quality resources and that practical lessons run smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the arts and the technical skills to help inspire and support students in their creative journey.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPrepare and organize materials and equipment for art lessons, including setting up and clearing away after practical sessions.\nMaintain and monitor the art studio, ensuring it is well-stocked, clean, and organized.\nSupport students during practical lessons by providing technical assistance and guidance on materials, techniques, and processes.\nAssist in the safe storage and handling of art supplies, including paints, chemicals, and tools, ensuring that health and safety standards are adhered to.\nHelp with the production and display of student artwork for exhibitions and school events.\nMaintain and repair art equipment, including tools, pottery wheels, and printing presses.\nEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations in the art studio, including risk assessments and safe handling of materials.\nAssist in the ordering and stock control of art supplies and resources.\nProvide administrative support to the Art Department, including organizing student portfolios and records.\n\nPerson Specification:\n\nExperience working in an art-based or technical support role, preferably in a secondary school or educational setting.\nA strong interest in the visual arts and a good understanding of art techniques, processes, and materials.\nExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.\nKnowledge of health and safety guidelines related to art materials and equipment.\nA relevant qualification in Art, Design, or a related field is desirable, but not essential.\nPrevious experience with printing, ceramics, or digital media is a plus.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nA dynamic, creative, and supportive environment where you can make a real impact on students' learning and development.\nOpportunities for professional development and growth within the school.\nCompetitive salary and benefits.\nA chance to work within a highly regarded and collaborative team in an outstanding secondary school.\n\nHow to Apply:\n\nIf you are passionate about the arts and have the skills to support our teachers and students, we would love to hear from you.
