Lead Construction Project Supervisor (Motherwell)

Our Store Development Team is strengthening their construction team to meet our ambitious expansion plans. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Construction Manager to join their team in the Motherwell Property Office based in Eurocentral. You will manage, plan and oversee construction projects across Scotland, ensuring the highest standards and deadlines are met.
You will oversee the construction of new stores, extensions and modernisations of our existing store portfolio, ensuring the highest quality standards and compliance with our corporate specification and H&S requirements. Managing relationships with key collaborators, you will liaise with internal and external parties throughout the project cycle. You will work proactively to address potential obstacles and plan costs, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Note: You will be expected to be in the Motherwell Property Office based in Eurocentral or on site a minimum of 3 to 4 days a week.
What you'll do
1. Overseeing the construction of new stores, extensions and modernisations of our existing store portfolio
2. Managing assigned project plans and deadlines
3. Monitoring project progress and checking quality standards are met at all times
4. Managing relationships with external companies, contractors and suppliers
5. Ensuring compliance with our corporate specification and internal procedures
6. Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety performance on all construction sites
7. Remedying any issues quickly and effectively with an aim to keeping projects moving and ensuring deadlines are not jeopardised
8. Reporting on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team
9. Budget management and controlling project costs
What you'll need
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Engineering or Construction
2. Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role
3. PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills
4. A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment
5. Highly organised with a pragmatic and analytical approach
6. A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
7. An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business
8. A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative
9. RICS, CIOB or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications
10. Experience in another retailer is desirable
11. Driving License is essential for this role
