The Thinking Ahead Institute (TAI) was established in January 2015 as a global not-for-profit investment research and innovation member group made up of engaged institutional asset owners and asset managers committed to mobilising capital for a sustainable future. It has over 50 members (clients) around the world and is an outgrowth of WTW’s Thinking Ahead Group. This role is in the Thinking Ahead team – which is an independent research and innovation team and full-time executive of the Thinking Ahead Institute. The Institute aims to use the power of thought leadership to create positive change in the investment industry; connect people from all corners of the investment industry to harness their ideas; and use those ideas to mobilise capital for a sustainable future. The role
This is an exciting and pivotal role, with significant potential for personal growth and development, in a very active Thinking Ahead team. Thinking Ahead is looking to add a colleague to the team to lead on communications and content delivery through online platforms and through our exciting events programme. Below is a guide to what we are looking for, although the exact nature of the role will be somewhat dependent on the chosen individual.
External communications
* Work with WTW’s global client, growth, content and PR teams to manage investment content delivery with the aim of promoting the Institute’s brand and broader WTW business objectives
* Manage the communication pipeline of TAI research, projects and events to members and prospects through monthly newsletters, website, social media and podcast updates
Engagement and distribution platforms
Website
* Manage and maintain the TAI website improving functionality, the user experience, visual design, search engine optimisation and site editing
* Maintain effective relationships and workflow with the third-party web hosting & support company and the relevant teams within WTW
* Work with the wider Thinking Ahead team to improve content on the website
Social media, podcasts and emails
* Maintain a high profile of the Institute’s work on social media, podcasts and other external channels
* Pro-actively find new and visually arresting ways of presenting TAI content externally, working with the wider team, external designers and using in-house design tools (e.g., Canva) and AI platforms (e.g., Writer, Co-pilot and ChatGPT, Descript)
Member relationship management
* Ensure relationships are built and maintained with member organisations, by being proactive in responding to members’ needs and encouraging members to engage with the TAI research and events programmes
* Build and maintain strong relationships within the asset owner and asset manager community, including via WTW’s Ideas Exchange conferences, creating a global pipeline of prospects with the aim of securing additional project revenue or membership of TAI
General operations
* Create, share and utilise analytics (from events, emails, web and social media) to learn from and to improve outputs as well as manage the data for reporting purposes
* Provide general support to ensure the effective operating of the Institute by being pro-active in helping colleagues as and when needed
Qualifications
The requirements
* A highly creative self-starter with initiative and a can-do attitude, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision; results oriented
* Knowledge and expertise in managing websites (including analytics experience) and using social media
* Knowledge of digital applications such as Marketo, Hootsuite, WordPress, MS PowerPoint and event platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Studio is desirable
* Knowledge of AI platforms would be desirable (e.g., Writer, Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Descript)
* Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks to successfully meet deadlines
* Strong team player with good relationship building skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Given the nature of the role some flexibility to work outside core business hours may be required from time to time, mainly for business events
