The Graduate Welding Engineer is responsible for assisting the Welding Engineers on the welding discipline either for tender, project execution or for R&D project. They will assist with the specification and requirements, qualifications of welding procedures, welding equipment and consumable selection as well as to ensure appropriate documentation is in place.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Role specific responsibilities
* Fulfilling the project welding activities in a cost-efficient, effective and safe manner. Projects
* are located worldwide therefore international travel may be required.
* Monitoring and collating data from R&D materials and welding projects. Providing budget-estimates and / or firm offers for tenders, projects or internal clients with
* respect to welding activities and equipment.
* Review of technical specifications for tender/contract purposes, determining cost, quality
* and cycle time impact.
* Calculation of welding cycle times for pipeline installation rate estimates for tender and
* planning purposes.
* QC and Inspection functions during WPQT, WQ and Welding Development. In addition,
* monitoring of production welding on site may be required.
* Occasional travel to worksites may be required

REQUIREMENTS
Job Specific Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in welding / materials engineering or equivalent level through experience
Work Experience Required:
• Experience of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
• Must be willing to undertake offshore survival
The requirement to travel 20 % of time
