Who are we?
CodeBase is a tech ecosystem support organisation and startup incubator that helps people build better tech startups. We help people build and grow better tech startups through community, education, and workspace.
CodeBase has created and delivers startup programmes for a number of organisations including the Scottish Government, the UK Government, Local Authorities and large corporations. We promote and facilitate collaboration in tech innovation by working with startups, scaleups, corporates, governments, academia, investors and the third sector. CodeBase also delivers scaleup and corporate programmes across industry verticals such as law, health and energy, which connect and educate corporates, startups and scaleups.
CodeBase has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Inverness, and will soon be opening a site in Dumfries.
CodeBase offers flexible workspace (hotdesking, coworking and office space), delivers expert accelerator and mentorship programmes, hosts a peer-led community for people in the startup ecosystem to meet and connect with each other, and delivers a wide range of collaborative industry-startup bridge programmes.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Content Marketing Executive to support our ambitious growth plans. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a B2B or agency environment, with strong organisational skills and a proven ability to manage their workload effectively. You will be creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about digital marketing, with a clear and compelling style of written communication.
What will you be doing?
* Content Creation: Developing engaging and on-brand content, including thought leadership articles, long and short form blog posts, case studies, newsletters, videos, infographics, flyers, whitepapers, social media updates and press releases.
* Content Strategy: Assist in the development and execution of a content strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and audience needs.
* Social media management: Manage our social media channels alongside the Digital Marketing Executive, including content scheduling, community engagement and performance analysis.
* SEO and Web content: Optimise web content for search engines and ensure that our website is regularly updated with fresh and relevant material.
* Internal comms: Support internal comms by creating content that resonates with our team and fosters a cohesive company culture.
* Event promotion: Collaborate with the events teams to promote upcoming events through content marketing efforts.
* Sales support: Build sales materials for the business development team.
What do we need from you?
* 3+ years in a marketing capacity within a B2B or agency environment.
* Track record of producing a wide variety of content.
* Experience using content management systems.
* Ability to manage own workload.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
* Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Please also tell us if you have:
* Experience using HubSpot and CRM systems.
* Experience using Webflow, Squarespace or Wordpress.
* Experience in PR or media outreach.
* Knowledge of graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
* Experience in video production.
What will you get?
* £32k per annum.
* 4 day working week (please note that this role may require out of hours working from time to time for which you will receive time off in lieu).
* 23 days holiday + 2 weeks off over Christmas and New Year (we don’t take public holidays so that you can use your holiday days for what is important to you).
* 10% employer pension contribution on Qualifying Earnings.
* 12 weeks maternity or paternity leave at full pay.

About the job
Work Days: This role is 28 hours a week over 4 days (day off to be decided with line manager), 9am - 5pm.
Location: Edinburgh, although travel to other hubs across Scotland may be required.
Start Date: ASAP.
Contract: Permanent.

The Process

When we shortlist we give people a chance and overlook less than perfect academic performance or gaps on CVs, as we know that structural inequalities, mental health challenges and family considerations can be unfairly held against people. We conduct a panel interview and a task as part of our interview process. Successful candidates start a 3–6 month probationary period where we encourage open communication to ensure that we do everything we can to set you up to succeed in the role.
