Job Title: HV Fitter – Electrical & Mechanical
Base Location: Inverness or Aberdeen to cover the North of Scotland.
Salary: £42,194 - 37 Hour week plus Van, Fuel card, all PPE and specialist tools needed plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am-4pm – no weekends or Bank Holidays.
There are standby rotas and overtime paid at additional rates for those who want it. Travel time will be paid in this role, and if there is a requirement to stay away from home, all accommodation will be paid for with a meal allowance included

Could you be our next Electrical/Mechanical Fitter to join the team and drive this success forwards?
What will I be doing in this role?
We manage over 100 Operation and Maintenance contracts, working closely with a variety of end-user clients. Your role is crucial in supporting our HV teams to deliver high-quality service to these clients. Additionally, we assist multiple DNOs in achieving their NET Zero targets by delivering key projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining 11kV ring main units
• Inspecting and maintaining 11kV and 33kV circuit breakers
• Servicing various types of 33kV tap changers
• Fault diagnosis and resolution
• Earthing HV and LV systems
• Replacing HV substation equipment and performing service mains changes
• Using cable avoidance tools (CAT) for testing installations and recording results
• Marking up drawings to show joint positions and cable installations
• Ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations, while also acting as a competent person to receive safety documentation
• Identifying and mitigating hazards, working in accordance with method statements, risk assessments, and conducting point of work risk assessments (POWRA)
• Continuously seeking opportunities to improve service delivery and enhance the efficiency of company processes
What do I need to be successful in the role?
• Proven experience working as an Electrical/Mechanical Fitter or a similar role, preferably in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, control panels, motors, pumps, or mechanical components (gears, conveyors, hydraulics, etc.).
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field (such as NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations for compliance with safety and installation standards.
• HV fitting experience with systems ranging from 11kV to 33kV
• CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
• NRSWA certification (New Roads and Street Works Act)
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), risk assessments, and safe working practices.
Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are;
• First Aid training is desirable
• SMSTS site management qualifications would be advantageous
• SSE authorisations are a benefit
However, it is really important to say, that we will provide training to gain authorisation on any DNO needed for the role.
