Alecto Recruitment is working with our client to find a qualified HGV Technician in the Lancashire area, to work Monday-Friday in the workshop on their fleet of vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Carry out regular servicing and maintenance on a fleet of HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles), ensuring vehicles are in excellent working condition and fully compliant with safety standards.
Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and provide effective solutions to minimize vehicle downtime.
Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough pre-mot and in-service inspections of HGVs, identifying wear and tear and any potential issues that could affect the vehicle's performance or safety.
Component Replacement: Replace or repair worn or faulty parts, including brakes, suspension, engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, and electrical components.
Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections for each vehicle, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service: Communicate with fleet managers or customers when necessary to report on vehicle status or to provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.
