An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month Secondment position to support Theatres, HDU, Pre-OP, Day Case and Anaesthetics.
This includes working with the Clinical Service Support Manager to resolve any day-to-day operational issues and to ensure that services are running effectively and efficiently and meeting national access targets, including cancer targets.
This role will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience in operational management in unplanned care.
The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated and reliable with experience of leading and managing staff. This post will provide an opportunity to develop existing skills and pursue a career in operational management.
This opportunity will provide insight into cancer tracking, patient tracking lists, theatre scheduling, rota management, multi-disciplinary team meeting processes, patient pathways and flow, as well as team working and some line management responsibilities.
1. Key relationships:
Clinical Service Support Manager, Clinical Service Manager, Medical Secretary Team Leader, Cancer Tracking Team Leader, Consultants, MDT Co-ordinators, Patient Liaison Officers, Appointments, Imaging and Performance teams.
2. Main Duties
• To provide day- to-day operational management support to the clinical Service leads with the aim of ensuring from a non-clinical perspective the department is running effectively and efficiently and meeting national access targets, including cancer targets.
• To provide administrative support and cover to the Clinical Support Service Manager (CSSM) as appropriate.
• To support the CSSM in developing and improving the service and processes in accordance with the clinical strategy.
• The post-holder will play a key part in supporting change and help clinical teams plan and review care pathways.
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust became a National Health Service Foundation Trust on 1 February 2007, the first specialist hospital to achieve this status in England. It has an income base of around £75m and is the largest provider of elective orthopaedic surgery within Birmingham and The Black Country. The specialist services receive a significant number of referrals from further afield including many outside the West Midlands.
