Booth Welsh are looking to recruit a Project Planner for an established manufacturing client based in Grangemouth. This role will be on a full time as part of the Projects and TAR team.
Purpose of the Role for Planning Engineer
The Planning Engineer's role entails constructing, organizing, and providing reports on Project & TAR (Turnaround) plans. This supports the Construction & P6 Coordination Manager and the broader team in achieving Development Project & TAR objectives effectively.
Key Accountabilities
1. Collaborate directly with Project Managers and Construction Coordinators to streamline project coordination.
2. Ensure a cohesive approach to planning for multiple projects and TARs, encompassing front-end engineering, design, construction, commissioning, completions, and closure.
3. Take on strategic guidance from Project and TAR Lead(s)/Manager(s).
4. Hold full responsibility for front-end planning during the engineering phase of the Project.
5. Manage and oversee the front-end planning function using Primavera P6.
6. Ensure all plans are correctly maintained, updated, and archived.
7. Identification and communication of Risks to the project schedule.
8. Utilise a front-end standard network for Capex, Remediation & TAR projects.
9. Conduct in-depth delay analysis on project and TAR plans as needed.
10. Assist in ensuring all work performed by the project and TAR teams is meticulously planned.
11. Generate resource histograms to aid in resource allocation decisions.
12. Conduct regular planning meetings with project owners and the engineering team to ensure precise plan alignment for progress reporting.
13. Hold regular meetings with Contractors to integrate the front-end plan into the comprehensive Capex, Remediation & TAR programs.
14. Arrange and oversee interactive planning sessions for project and TAR when necessary.
15. Collaborate within an integrated P6 Implementation team, distributing the workload across the project and TAR portfolio.
Education/Experience
1. Consideration of HND / HNC in an Engineering discipline.
2. Prior experience in the construction industry.
3. Preferably, knowledge of the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.
4. Proficiency in Primavera (P6).
5. Extensive experience in a project-oriented work environment.
6. Familiarity with project gated processes.
7. Ideally, some working knowledge of NEC3 Contracts.
8. Self-motivated with effective communication skills and the ability to influence the Project Team and contract personnel as necessary.
9. Capable of interfacing effectively with Contractor and Client senior personnel to achieve project objectives.
10. Mandatory experience in Brownfield projects, particularly in the delivery of multiple small projects.
