Applications are invited for this replacement substantive post, to join the established team of paediatricians in NHS Ayrshire and Arran. This is a combined community and acute paediatric post. The post holder will be based at Rainbow House neurodevelopment centre in Irvine and will have acute duties at University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.
The successful applicant will contribute 6 hot weeks each year to the acute paediatric service at Crosshouse and be part of the acute paediatric on call rota (1:11 with prospective cover). The Community paediatric role will provide neurodevelopmental services to a geographical patch of North Ayrshire with the support of a multidisciplinary team. There will be a commitment to child protection and the opportunity to develop a special interest.
Applicants will be appropriately experienced with Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice, and shall be eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register. Non UK applicants require to demonstrate equivalent training. MRCPCH or equivalent is also essential.
The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the Terms and Conditions of the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004 and is offered on a 10 Programmed Activity basis. Opportunities may exist for Extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements.
