We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a vibrant and inclusive school. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs. You will help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment, ensuring that each child receives the individualised support they require. This role begins March 2025. SEND Teaching Assistant Duties: Supporting students with SEND on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities. Adapting resources to meet individual learning needs. Encouraging students' independence and confidence in their learning. Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs. Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies. Assisting with personal care needs where required (if applicable). Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with SEND, either in a school or a similar setting (desirable but not essential). A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to learn and adapt to students' individual needs. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
