Richmond Talking Therapies (RTT) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated High Intensity CBT Therapist to join our dynamic and innovative service on a permanent contract. The post is hybrid and currently this would require 2 days working face to face in service per week and 2 days working from home. This may be subject to change dependent on service needs.
RTT is based in Twickenham, in the borough of Richmond. We are one of the top-rated Talking Therapies services in London, offering stepped-care, evidence-based interventions at steps 2 and 3.We are part of South West London & St George’s NHS Trust.
The vacancy is offered as a permanent contract, with ablend of working from home and working throughout the borough of Richmond Upon Thames flexed to service need (currently 2 days working face to face per week),with the expectation that clinical staff work one late evening per week (12 noon until 8pm Mon-Thurs).
This post involves:
• Delivery of high quality, Step 3 CBT (face to face/online, group/individual) interventions for clients presenting with mild to moderate anxiety disorders and depression-related problems
• Carrying out telephone, virtual online and face-to-face assessments
• Working with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters where necessary

About Location
This post is based at St Johns Health Centre
1. Todeliver20attended clinicalhoursperweek. This will include assessments, individual and group work.
2. Toprovidespecialist psychological therapy assessments with clients referred to the NHS Talking Therapies servicebasedontheappropriateuse,interpretationandintegrationofcomplexdatafromavarietyofsources.Thiswillincludeclientself-reportmeasures,ratingscales,directandindirectstructuredobservationsandsemi-structuredinterviewswith clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
3. To provide at least one NICE recommended psychological therapy for anxiety disorders and/or depression.
4. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
5. TobeknowledgeableaboutDSM-Vdiagnosisofcommonmentalhealthproblems(asrelevanttoNHS Talking Therapies)andskilledinthedifferential diagnosisofclinicaldisorders.
6. Tobeabletoclinicallyformulateclients’problemsanddevelopandimplementplansfortheformalStep3treatmentand/ormanagementofaclient’sproblems,baseduponanappropriateconceptualframeworkandemployingmethodsbaseduponevidenceofefficacy.
7. AgoodunderstandingandabilitytoapplyCBTtreatmentstrategiesflexiblyacrossthewholerangeofdisordersseeninNHS Talking Therapies(particularlycommon mood disorders).
8. To be responsible for implementing psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations and drawing upon relevant explanatory models. To be able to use a specific psychological therapy for anxiety and/or depression, in line with NICE guidance, at a specialist level in assessments and interventions.
9. Toevaluateandmakedecisionsabouttreatmentoptionstakingintoaccountboththeoreticalandtherapeuticmodelsandhighlycomplexfactorsconcerninghistoricalanddevelopmentalprocessesthathaveshapedtheindividual,familyorgroup.
10. Toexerciseautonomousprofessionalresponsibilityfortheassessment,treatmentanddischargeofclientswhoseproblemsaremanagedbypsychologicallybasedstandardcareplans.
11. Toprovidespecialistpsychologicaladvice,guidanceandconsultationtootherprofessionalsinordertosupportaccuratediagnosis,formulationandtreatmentplan.
12. Toundertakeriskassessmentandriskmanagementforindividualclientsinlinewiththeservice’sriskmanagementpolicy,andtoprovideadvicetootherprofessionsonpsychologicalaspectsofriskassessmentandriskmanagement.
13. Tocommunicateinaskilledandsensitivemanner,informationconcerningtheassessment,formulationandtreatmentplansofclientsundertheircareandtomonitorprogressduringthecourseoftreatment.
14. To provide expertise, advice and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the treatment team.
15. To provide reports where appropriate
16. To attend serious incident (SI) meetings as needed.
17. To work clinically with interpreters.
