You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties, as well as providing support to Management, Doctors and Health Professionals. Your main job responsibilities will include Maintain administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure To provide cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies Processing prescription requests in line with Practice policies Manage the GP2GP worklists Complete administrative actions on docman system task list Deal appropriately with emails received into the Practice inbox(s) Register new patients Ensure patient information is recorded/retrieved on the computer system accurately and promptly Deal appropriately with instructions and queries from management, Doctors and Surgery staff Any information regarding unresolved/urgent matters to be left readily available for any incoming colleagues to identify and resolve To communicate effectively with GPs, Health Professionals, Hospitals, Patients and Relatives and Nursing and Surgery staff, both verbally and in writing To work as a team member with fellow colleagues To participate in team meetings, and initiate ideas to improve the working environment This job description indicates the main responsibilities of the post.
