Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. You’ll be working in a part of Telent dedicated to maintaining the UK-wide rail network. Our clients include Transport for London, Network Rail, and various Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the system engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM, etc., infrastructure. Acting as the systems engineer for customer projects, you will handle all technical aspects, including survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a Rail environment.
Typical Deliverables
* Strong experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
* Potentially lead in creating new product or service ideas and developing plans for new designs.
* Manage ideas from initial design to production and installation.
* Draw detailed technical plans for ideas and concepts.
* Use mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
* Select appropriate materials for new products or constructions.
* Calculate accurate cost analysis forecasts.
* Complete technical and regulatory documentation.
* Ensure quality-control testing and oversee construction, development, and deployment of systems.
Responsibilities
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of professional engineering disciplines and related areas.
* Arrange testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Develop personal engineering skills.
* Solve complex problems with innovative perspectives.

* Comply with QEHS requirements.
Skill Requirements
* Previous technical experience in SISS, engineering, design, and survey skills.
* Relevant licenses/certifications for the discipline.
* Proficiency with MS Office suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
* Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively and focus on customer needs.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and reasoning skills.
