The purpose of this role is to work within the purchasing team and alongside the production team to provide consistent production plans in accordance with the availability of production lines, labour, and materials. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and purchasing of materials, contributing to the continued success of the business. This is a junior - mid level position, reporting into the Procurement Manager. Main duties include: Coordinate detailed production schedules in conjunction with manufacturing team Monitor stock levels, lead times and shortages ensuring that Syspro is up to date Manage resource allocation to optimise production efficiency Handle the daily release of necessary production documentation Review bi-weekly sales data to adjust build plans and prevent stock outs Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all purchased materials and services Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning data within the MRP/ERP system Keep the sales and productions teams informed about potential supply disruptions Requirements: Proven track record of planning and buying in a manufacturing setting essential CIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred) Strong knowledge of planning and procurement principles Experience with MRP/ERP systems Understanding of day-to-day business activities and operations Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment Ability to build strong relationships with external partners Must be organised and able to balance multiple priorities appropriately Why Join Us: At Grant Instruments, we pride ourselves on being one of the most innovative and longstanding manufacturing companies in the UK with a global presence.
