This role will have responsibility for day to day activities of the Microbiology Laboratory.
Laboratory personnel are free from any undue internal, external, commercial, financial and other pressures and influences, which may affect the quality of their work.
What is involved
1. Responsibility for providing and maintaining service excellence to customers with professionalism and courtesy.
2. Ensure all work in the laboratory is carried out in compliance with the Health and Safety policies, ISO13485, ISO17025, EUGMP, accreditation requirements, internal procedures and under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor/Management team.
3. Maintain accurate and sufficiently detailed records of all quality tests performed and uphold relevant quality standards.
4. Assist in the day to day organization of work in the microbiology unit to meet departmental and customer needs.
5. Cleaning and washing of Laboratory glassware; preparation and sterilisation of Laboratory media.
6. Perform microbiological techniques on customer product and other samples, including microbiological identifications, culture preparation, LAL Endotoxin testing, bioburden, environmental, biological indicator, product inoculations, and sterility testing.
7. Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment including autoclave, water generation system, balances, incubators, and others.
8. Organize the environmental monitoring program and check environmental conditions within the laboratory, including customer visits.
9. Cleaning of general laboratory, test rooms, and cleanrooms.
10. Disposal of lab waste generated in carrying out duties.
11. Handle customer inquiries/complaints in a courteous, professional manner.
12. Responsible for stock control in conjunction with other laboratory staff.
13. Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
14. Attend relevant courses and undergo training as necessary.
15. Familiarize with the micro work carried out in the Laboratory.
16. Undertake any other duties as may become necessary in the provision of quality assured service.
Required Experience
2 years experience in laboratory environment.
