Bookkeeping & Payroll Assistant
Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time (client will consider both)
Salary: Competitive
This is a part-time on-site role for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Assistant for our client within their office in Staverton.
The Assistant will work as part of a team and be responsible for administering payroll and bookkeeping services for a number of clients.
Responsibilities
1. Preparation and submissions of payroll from client information provided, at various frequencies and sizes, from start to finish
2. Update tax codes and dealing with any other HMRC notifications
3. Knowledge of statutory payments
4. Process starters and leavers, including salary calculations
5. Maintaining pension schemes and ensuring TPR duties are met
6. Day to day bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns
7. Reconcile bank and control accounts
8. Developing and maintaining relationships with multiple clients, as well as assisting them with queries
9. Working within a team to meet deadlines and delivering work to a high standard
Requirements
1. Attention to detail and accuracy
2. Good organizational and time management skills
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Good computer skills
5. At least 3 years previous experience in bookkeeping or payroll within a practice setting
6. Knowledge of Sage, Xero and/or QuickBooks is preferable
