As Head of Communications & Content, you will:

Strategic Leadership & Planning – Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and content strategy that aligns with PDSA’s mission and supports its three-year business plan.
*
Team Management & Development – Lead, manage, and nurture the communications and content team, fostering growth, innovation, and alignment with organisational values.
*
Content Creation & Channel Oversight – Oversee the delivery of engaging, high-quality content across owned and earned media, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and brand representation.
*
Media Relations & Public Affairs – Lead public affairs and media strategies, using audience insights and data to influence external perceptions and enhance PDSA’s visibility and credibility.
*
Internal Communications & Culture Support – Ensure internal communications reflect and reinforce external messaging, supporting organisational culture and employee engagement.

Reputation Management & Strategic Positioning – Monitor sentiment, manage reputational risk, and position PDSA as a thought leader and trusted authority across relevant sectors.
We’re seeking someone with:

Senior-Level Communications Experience – Significant experience in leading strategic communications, with a strong record in developing and delivering successful internal and external comms.

Reputation & Crisis Management – Proven ability to protect and enhance organisational reputation, manage public sentiment, and mitigate reputational risk.

Data-Led Strategy & Messaging – Skilled in using audience insights, analytics, and sentiment tracking to shape and adapt communications for maximum impact.

Integrated Content Planning – Demonstrated expertise in planning and producing multi-channel content strategies across owned and earned media.
*
Stakeholder & Media Engagement – Strong background in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, and media relations to build trust and amplify reach.
*
Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration – Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across marketing, fundraising, and HR to align messaging.
