Job summary The Information Governance Support Manager will play a key role in the management of Information Governance (IG) related matters with considerable freedom to act within the parameters of defined policies and legislation. The post holder will have expert / specialist knowledge in the areas of IG and an understanding of the research environment in the UK. The post holder will work with the Information Governance and Complaints Manager to improve and develop the service provided by the IG and Complaints team to complainants and members of the public in line with the HRA's strategic objectives. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for leading on responses to Freedom of Information Act requests, subject access requests and other IG related matters as required. This will involve communicating verbally and through written format with members of the public, research participants, members of the research team and sponsors regarding queries and concerns, which may frequently be of a sensitive, confidential, personal and potentially highly complex nature. The individual will also support the Information Governance and Complaints Manager in ensuring the wider work of the IG & Complaints team, notably complaints and third party complaints are managed in a timely manner and in accordance with HRA policies and procedures and legal frameworks. The post holder will support the introduction, review and maintenance of new processes and systems (databases / workflows etc) which recognise the need to learn from enquiries, as well as seeking effective remedies for those who have raised a query.
