Job Description:
As a Workshop Controller at Steer Automotive Group, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our busy workshop. Your leadership will ensure that vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standard. You will manage a team of skilled technicians, coordinate workflow, and maintain seamless communication between the workshop and front-of-house staff.
Key Responsibilities:
13. Coordinate and supervise daily workshop activities, ensuring optimal workflow and efficiency.
14. Allocate jobs to technicians based on their skills and expertise.
15. Monitor repair and maintenance progress, ensuring timely completion.
16. Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company and industry standards.
17. Liaise with service advisors and customers to provide updates on vehicle status.
18. Maintain accurate records of all work and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
19. Assist in diagnosing complex vehicle issues and provide technical support to technicians.
20. Manage inventory levels and order parts as needed.
21. Train and mentor new staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
22. Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or similar role in the automotive industry.
23. Significant technical background with a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems and repairs.
24. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
25. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
26. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
27. Proficiency in using workshop management software and other computer applications.
28. Valid UK driving license.
