Join our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Underground Cable Project Manager on our Operational Team and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.
This role is Office & Site-based in Aberdeenshire, you will be:
* Planning, managing and delivering Projects safely and sustainably to programme, cost and quality.
* Having overall accountability for successful project delivery including planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.
* Providing management and leadership to create an environment where a multi-disciplinary project team can thrive and succeed to achieve a common goal.
* Ensuring effective management of client and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
* Holding periodic project reviews and updating the Digital Briefcase.
* Ensuring reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made that are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy.
* Preparing and presenting both internal/external reports and liaising with stakeholders.
* Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables.
* Health, Safety & Environmental management.
* Ensuring a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keeping up to date with changes in legislation.
* Carrying out Safety & Environmental Tours/promoting observation and safety initiatives.
* Leading Accident/Incident Investigations and monitoring effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implementing improvement actions.
* Reviewing RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS.
* Developing H&S plans and ensuring they are treated as live documents and ensuring sufficiency and competency of workforce.
* Coordinating and managing all project activities and internal functions and identifying and controlling resources to deliver works.
* Developing, implementing and updating resource allocations plans and raising appropriate requests.
* Developing high performing teams, promoting a pipeline of talent and assisting with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team.
* Leading risk/opportunity reviews, owning the Risk Register and recommending/implementing changes.
* Logging and escalating any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority.
* Managing subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
* Ensuring assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and taking appropriate action on findings and leading working groups on focused improvement areas.
* Monitoring progress and implementing Short Interval Control processes/holding weekly meetings and ensuring production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectations.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Formal qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience.
* In-depth understanding and practical experience of NEC contracts.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Strong experience of delivering underground cabling projects.
