DIVISION/BUSINESS UNIT: Project Management

Key Responsibilities
As a minimum you may be called upon to undertake all or some of these activities as required
Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise to the project team, ensuring proper planning, and confirming that hardware, materials, and resources are adequate for completing the work to the required standards, achieving a "right first time" outcome.
Project Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that all activities are completed within specified timeframes and budget constraints.
Scope Management: Report any out-of-scope work to the Project Manager to ensure that additional work is documented and billed appropriately.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety (H&S) and Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations within projects, overseeing relevant documentation and ensuring adherence to legal and client safety requirements.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery and quality of necessary Handover Packs, conducting QA checks to confirm standards are met.
Resource Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure that all necessary resources, including personnel and materials, are available for successful project delivery.
Contractor Supervision: Supervise 1st fix installation teams, ensuring that all project-specific quality or technical standards are fully understood and met.
Support to Project Manager: Assist the Project Manager with tasks related to client sites, including performance management of contractor resources, reporting, and preparation of site handover documentation.
Cabling and Testing: Ensure that cabling, testing, and reporting are conducted according to the standards outlined in project documentation.
Third-Party Assessment: Evaluate the work completed by third parties to authorize sign-off.
Sign-Off and Remediation: Verify at relevant project stages that standards have been achieved or initiate any necessary remedial actions.
Client Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all client Health & Safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of interfacing effectively with team members and clients.
* IT Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft products and databases.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data cabling and containment installations.
* Team Management: Experience in managing teams and effectively managing their performance.
* Site Management Certification: Qualified in site management, preferably with a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
* Cabling Expertise: Proven experience in data cabling, testing, and fault-finding within cabling networks.
* Sector Experience: Demonstrable experience working within a university setting.
* Installation Experience: Proven experience completing 1st and 2nd fix customer installations within a network cabling workstream.
Professional Profile
Demonstrable experience of delivering Telecommunications, infrastructure or IT projects.
Knowledge and experience of the techniques for managing cross-functional teams.
Previous experience of working on larger scale or public sector projects.
Commercial awareness at a project level.
