Young person recovery worker – North London
Overview: This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner in North London! Belmont Recruitment is seeking individuals experienced in working with young people and families facing substance misuse, complex needs, and safeguarding concerns. This role involves acting as a young person worker for a private charity located in the Lewisham area.
Responsibilities:
* Target Group: Young people aged 5-17.
* Support Focus: Provide support and emotional wellbeing regarding hidden harm from parental substance misuse.
* Risk Minimization: Aid in understanding parents' substance misuse to minimize intergenerational drug and alcohol use risks.
* Community Engagement: Work within community schools, conduct workshops, and provide risk-centred support and information.
* Co-location: Work within Youth Offending Teams (YOT), schools, and Family Hubs.
Key Qualifications:
* Experience working with young people and families dealing with substance misuse and complex needs.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding concerns and practices.
* Ability to deliver workshops and support sessions in community schools.
Caseload and Team Support:
* Low Caseload: Manage a maximum of 25 cases, ensuring focused and quality support.
* Team Environment: Work within a supportive team committed to meaningful and impactful work.
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £18-£20 per hour
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Days: Monday - Friday
Contract Duration: 3/6 Months (+ ongoing)
