Job Summary:
A Second Chef is required to deliver high-quality meals in a care home setting, ensuring the well-being of residents and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
About the Role:
* Prepare and cook meals to the highest standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
* Manage food safety and hygiene, adhering to regulations and company requirements.
* Maintain accurate stock control, monitor waste, and place orders as needed.
* Support the Head Chef, taking charge in their absence and deputising for them when necessary.
* Implement methods to meet individual dietary requirements and nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver person-centred hospitality to residents, focusing on quality and high standards.
* Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other team members to achieve kitchen goals.
* Stay up-to-date with food preparation techniques, trends, and legislation to maintain expertise.
* Contribute to a positive, respectful work environment, prioritising resident well-being and staff safety.
About You:
* You have relevant experience in a catering environment, with a secure understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements.
* You hold a Food Hygiene Level 2 and ideally an NVQ Level 2.
