The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was founded in 1991 to support the transition to market economies in former communist countries. Today, we invest to help build market economies from Central Europe to Central Asia and the southern and eastern Mediterranean.
The Associate Director supports the Director and Secretary General in guiding and steering engagement with the EBRD Board of Directors, overseeing the development and delivery of their strategic work programme, and managing a high-performing multi-cultural team of 9.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations of the Board and Institutional Affairs team.
* Act as Secretary to the Board Steering Group.
* Lead and coordinate the BIA team responsible for the planning, agenda setting, and management of all Board meetings.
* Prepare briefings on politically sensitive and complex issues.
* Ensure effective pre-and post-Board of Directors coordination.
* Support and advise the Director and Secretary General on governance issues.
* Manage and lead the BIA team of 9, including 4 direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
* Comprehensive understanding of the EBRD and its mandate.
* Experience working in an IFI/multilateral institution.
* Direct experience with senior stakeholders, notably Boards of Directors.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across departments.
* Proven diplomatic and influencing skills.
* Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
