Student Support Officer (Apprenticeships) This is a fantastic, unique and genuinely rewarding role for an Apprenticeship or Work Based Learning professional to take on – in this position, you will be genuinely helping struggling apprenticeship students, making a positive impact on their life and career. Firstly though – this is working for one of the leading Training & Apprenticeship providers in their field. This is Working from Home / Hybrid, and is a pivotal role in the company; you will be replacing the current Officer who is retiring, so you will also have the advantage of a full handover. In a nutshell, you will be alerted by a Skills Coach colleague when one of the current cohort of apprentices becomes disengaged, or is evidently having issues. Using your empathy, and communication skills (particularly to younger workers) your initial job will be to engage with these workers. You will look to offer them solutions to their problems within the work, investigating their issues and putting in to place a road map to ensure they are able to successfully complete their apprenticeship. It’s your people skills that will get these students back on track, and ultimately send them on their way to successful completion It’s a rare role in the Apprenticeship / WBL marketplace – but a vital one. It could be you are an experienced Apprenticeship / WBL professional seeking a different, more inspiring role, or a Skills Tutor seeking to use their communication skills in a different setting? You may be in HIM with exposure to Apprenticeships seeking a different role to use your people and empathy skills. Above all, you will have the ability to listen, nurture and motivate workers in a professional manner. The salary is £26k – £28k, it’s a Working from Home role, with huge autonomy – you will have your students to support, and will liaise with both them, the employer and your relevant skills coach.
