Required from ASAP Safeguarding/Pastoral Officer Salary Scale 6 (18-22) Permanent/Full Time (37 hours per week – 39 weeks per year – Term Time Only) Term Time plus one week to cover Teaching Education Days We are seeking a Safeguarding/Pastoral Officer to be a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) in order to support our students further. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Safeguarding/Pastoral Officers within our larger Pastoral Team and will be responsible to the Lead DDSL and Deputy Headteacher. The candidate will be dynamic, able to think on their feet, proactive, skilled at multi-tasking and a confident communicator. You will have the drive to ensure that every student at Bishop Perowne is safe and supported to reach their full potential by identifying and removing any barriers to learning. Some of our students find the daily challenges of school more difficult than others and we are looking for a colleague who has the skills, ideas and strategies to support them. Part of the role will require the successful candidate to run and manage active cases where the child/family are open to a multi-agency approach or plan e.g. CiC, CP, CiN or Early Help Plan. Knowledge and experience of this type of working is preferred but not essential. Ongoing training and professional development is given. Previous experience of working with Secondary School students or within a safeguarding context is preferred but not necessary, as the right candidate for our students is paramount.
