About the Role
The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering department is a strategic priority and key growth area within our college and the local community, with a strong focus on welding and fabrication. We offer a wide range of courses, including study programmes, adult training, and Higher Education at our City Campus in Sunderland. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to engage with and inspire the next generation of welders. This part-time role provides an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality welding provision, reflecting the latest industry standards and helping students succeed in their training and career pathways.
About the Candidate
Key Qualifications and Experience:
* Industry Experience: Strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on practical, hands-on skills.
* Welding Qualification: A recognised qualification in welding or a related discipline is essential.
* Teaching Potential: Motivated to share skills and expertise with students, whether you are an experienced welder seeking a pathway into teaching or an industry professional with a passion for guiding the next generation.
* Adaptability: Willingness to transition from industry to an educational setting, with full support and training provided for those new to teaching.
* Commitment to Industry Standards: Ability to deliver high-quality welding provision that reflects the latest industry standards.
* Student Engagement: Passion for inspiring and engaging students in their learning journey, ensuring they succeed in their training and career pathways.
* Teaching Support: For candidates transitioning from industry, the college will provide support for achieving a teaching qualification within an appropriate timescale upon joining.
* Flexibility: This is a part-time role, offering the opportunity for current teaching practitioners or industry professionals looking for a career change.
