As Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing staff to implement the care plans of patients at Schoen Clinic Newbridge. The nursing staff will decide the detailed care plans in conjunction with best practice (e.g., NICE guidelines), and HCAs will participate in the development and implementation of daily activities to support the care plans.
Main duties of the job
1. Adhere to NICE guidelines;
2. Build therapeutic relationships with patients;
3. Conduct regular patient assessments;
4. Assist during meal times and support feeding methods;
5. Perform clinical tasks with expertise;
6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals;
7. Ensure safety and report concerns;
8. Understand safeguarding principles.

Person Specification
Experience
* Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be able to ensure safe practice.
* Working in a healthcare setting.
* Able to maintain professional boundaries with patients.
* Experience in MS office systems.
* Experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of working sensitively with patients, carers and relatives.
* An awareness of NICE guidelines.
* Competent to undertake basic physical observations and personal care.
* Experience working as a HCA in an inpatient environment.
* To demonstrate an awareness and commitment to equality and diversity.
* Knowledge of MHA & MCA.
* Knowledge of safeguarding.
* Experience of using IT based patient record systems.
Qualifications
* A good standard of education, ideally NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
* Can demonstrate clear evidence of continued professional development.
