The governors of Ripley Nursery School and Childcare are looking for a dedicated and visionary Headteacher to lead our vibrant, welcoming, successful learning community and help us achieve high standards for all our children.
About Ripley Nursery School and Childcare:
Ripley Nursery School is a dynamic and exciting environment, valuing parents as partners in nurturing the potential of every child. We foster a cooperative learning community where children, staff, governors, and parents work together to promote high achievement. We have recently received a very positive Ofsted report which acknowledged the successful path we are on and hope to continue with. Our 90-place nursery school serves children aged 3-5 years during term time. Additionally, Ripley Nursery School Childcare Company provides wraparound education and childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years, operating for 49 weeks of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
As Headteacher, you will:
1. Provide strategic leadership and management, ensuring the highest standards of education and care.
2. Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
3. Develop and implement an innovative curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
4. Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of dedicated educators and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
5. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and the local community.
6. Ensure the vision and values for the Nursery and childcare are clearly articulated, shared, understood and acted upon effectively by all whilst being a driving force to motivate and work with others to create a shared culture and a positive climate
7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and strive for excellence in all inspections.
8. Manage and organise the school environment efficiently and effectively to ensure that it meets the needs of the curriculum and health and safety regulations.
9. Oversee the day-to-day operations of both the nursery school and the childcare company, including budget management, staff scheduling, and resource allocation.
Qualifications and Experience:
10. A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
11. Significant leadership experience in an early years setting.
12. Deep understanding of the EYFS framework and best practices in early childhood education and care.
13. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
14. A proactive, enthusiastic, and child-centered approach to education.
