Hydra Arts is seeking a dynamic stage manager to help deliver a day long festival of new work this summer.
£4,050 for 4.5 weeks (£900/week at 40 hrs per week) of freelance employment between April-July 2025. Will involve evening/weekend working.
Hydra Arts is a CIC based out of West Dunbartonshire. We create ambitious participatory arts projects with and for a wide range of communities. This new day long festival will take place in the village of Old Kilpatrick and will involve the presentation of 5 new commissioned art works as well as family friendly activities throughout the day and evening.
We are looking for an experienced, excited and collaborative individual who is inspired by the context of this festival to join the team and to collaborate with us to stage manage the festival. You will be required to work with the festival director, producer and production manager and all participating artists to assist in the delivery of the art works on the day and in the lead up to the festival.
The festival is on Saturday 28th June 2025.
Experience (Required):
1. Experience working in a dynamic context across a programme of work as a stage manager.
2. Experience in creating and maintaining relationships with artists and other project staff (production manager, festival director, producer) and fulfilling project needs.
3. Strong organisational skills including project timeline management, sourcing materials/props for art works, cash flow and financial record keeping (and use of digital software, excel etc), efficient and reliable communication with project members.
4. Ability to attend in person meetings and coordinate rehearsals, and flexibility to fit in with artists schedules, and comfortability being the middle person between artists and production team.
5. Some knowledge of technical aspects of theatre/performance production.
6. Understanding of implementing health and safety/risk assessment procedures.
Experience (desirable):
1. Experience working in participatory arts contexts.
2. Experience working outdoors.
3. Driving licence.
