In this role you will be responsible for the P&R (Power & Renewable) business unit in Scotland. You will manage and develop multiple project plans with differing levels of difficulty whilst also monitoring current live projects. The Planning Manager must positively influence and work towards a favourable outcome at all stages of the projects as well as monitor and report potential risk to the Senior Planning Manager.
Responsibilities
1. Develop Schedules and Histograms as required by the Bid Manager for all bids in the region
2. Sign–off and approve Schedule’s and Histograms produced by individual Planners
3. Resolve extraordinary planning related issues that arise on live projects that cannot be dealt with by the project planner
4. Review progress reports and dashboards on all projects weekly
5. Issue Regional report to the Planning Manager weekly
6. Mentor the planners to ensure they develop and expand their knowledge
7. Audit each live project Planning is supporting to ensure compliance with Planning Process
Must Have
1. 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying or strong trades background coupled with technical ability may be considered
2. 5+ years’ experience / demonstrate ability to develop and implement plans, monitor and control work
3. Must be capable of producing project plans from design and commercial information
4. Must be capable of mentoring & supervising intermediate and junior personnel
5. Must be capable of coordinating the development of multiple project plans
6. Microsoft Project / P6 or Equivalent Planning Software, Microsoft Office tools - Excellent report writing skills
7. Time management essential to satisfy demands of busy schedule
