This school has been asked by the local authority to open a SEN unit and therefore, they require a teacher from September to work full time until October half-term. Your new role
Your new job from September will be to work full time until October half-term in this new space. Your new role will be teaching up to 8 children. These children have found the mainstream provision unsuitable, so this school has created a safe, calm and quiet space for them to learn. You will be teaching from all areas of the national curriculum and your teaching will need to be adapted to meet the individual needs of each child linked to their EHCP. You will also be working closely with a wide range of other professionals.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be knowledgeable of the national curriculum, but most importantly, an understanding of SEN. Expectations of behaviour are high in this school, so you must pride yourself on this being a strength and being able tomunicate your expectations to the children in a clear and consistent manner. This role doese with an SEN point paid on top of £2539 and the school for the right person based on experience will pay up to UPS3.
