Environmental Health & Safety Manager
An outstanding opportunity is now available for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join an expanding and forward-thinking business, based in South Oxfordshire.
You will be required to implement, oversee, and adapt policies and programs to improve the organisation's environmental and safety performance, ensure it complies with current and future regulations and standards, both internal and external.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Monitoring environmental performance and identifying risks or areas for improvement.
2. Conducting safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment, working practices or working conditions.
3. Investigating environmental or safety incidents and preparing reports and recommendations.
4. Implementing waste management programs.
5. Developing and delivering EHS training programs.
6. Managing relationships with community or environmental stakeholders.
7. Conducting risk assessments where required and assisting other members of the Site team in developing appropriate risk assessments.
8. Working as the ISO management system representative for Environ & H&S.
9. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet established EHS targets.
10. Aligning on-site EHS standards with corporate standards, assisting with gap analysis, standards revisions as necessary, training, and implementation.
11. Monitoring and evaluating the organisation's overall EHS performance to identify recurring problems.
12. Researching, evaluating, and recommending changes to technology, equipment, systems, or processes that will improve the organisation's EHS performance.
13. Providing technical expertise and advice on EHS issues to functional or operational managers.
14. Maintaining positive relationships with the local community, environmental groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the organisation's environmental and safety performance.
Required Skills & Experience
* At least 3 years of EHS experience at a Management Level in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in ISO 45001/18001 & 14001.
* NEBOSH & Professional Body Membership.
* Good communication, written, and interpersonal skills to work at all levels in the organisation.
Specialist Experience - Preferred
* Experience in a Regulated Manufacturing Environment, e.g., Chemical, Radiation, or Controlled Environments.
* COMAH Experience.
* Working experience in Project Management.
