The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams specialise in complex assessment and discharge planning throughout the hospital. The Senior therapy assistants support, assess, and treat patients to facilitate their recovery in hospital to promote a transition back into the community. As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you will work as part of the larger MDT in order help to cover the wards within the Bedford site. You will need to be able to work in a manner that facilitates good communication and are able effectively link with multiple on site and external teams. Main duties of the job You will be able to assess, and if appropriate implement activities, treatments and exercises, liaising with families and the multidisciplinary team in order to achieve the common goal of facilitating a safe and effective discharge. You will also be monitoring and adjusting treatments/interventions and reviewing patients on an ongoing basis. High quality clinical supervision is provided for all our staff. You will be supported with your professional development and training by your team. We also offer robust training opportunities as part of the team and on a wider scale within Bedford Hospital.
