Overview: As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager across the Ashton and Bolton sites, your role is paramount in providing expert guidance, leadership, and a robust approach to all aspects of HSE. You will ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and company policies, while cultivating a proactive safety culture across the organisation. With one direct HSE Advisor reporting to you, you play a critical role in safeguarding the health and safety of our employees, ensuring the achievement of HSE targets in alignment with both internal and external customer expectations. You will promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation and provide expert advice and support to employees across both sites. Responsibilities: Encompass the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive HSE policies and procedures, ensuring they are understood and adhered to. Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive measures. Deploy the global HSE strategy, policies, and standards across both sites, coordinating site teams to deliver on our Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment targets and objectives. You will be instrumental in driving safety and environmental risk assessments, developing, and implementing appropriate controls, and reducing the sites' environmental impact focusing on waste management, CO2 emissions, and optimising water and energy consumption. Develop and implement environmental policies and practices to reduce the environmental impact. Own the internal group reporting procedures, updating, and liaising with the site leads and other HSE Partners within the group. As an active member of the site leadership team, you will report to the site lead and will influence all employees by driving safety and environmental leadership. Lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Skills: 10 proven experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within a multi-site operation. Comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, preferably in manufacturing. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Proficiency in risk assessment and incident investigation. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Ability to develop and implement HSE strategies aligned with business objectives. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Proven experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within a multi-site operation Membership of a recognized professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA) Experience in leading and managing teams. Experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
