Job description\nRoadside Technicians – Various Locations\n\nSalary: £37000 per annum\n\nStart Date: 22nd April 2025\n\nHours: 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week including 1 in 3 weekends. You will be the first point of contact for drivers facing vehicle breakdowns or emergencies, ensuring they receive prompt and reliable support.\n\nWe are looking for candidates based in the below locations:\n\n * Coventry\n\n * Warrick\n\n * Solihull\n\nCompany Benefits:\n\n· 9% employer contributed pension\n\n· 50% off home, motor and pet insurance plus free travel insurance and breakdown cover\n\n· Additional optional Health and Dental insurance\n\n· EV car scheme allows all colleagues to lease a brand new electric or plug-in hybrid car in a tax efficient way.\n\n· Generous holidays\n\n· Buy as you earn share scheme\n\n· Employee discounts and cashback\n\nJob Responsibilities:\n\n· Respond to emergency calls and breakdown requests from motorists in a timely manner.\n\n· Use your technical knowledge to diagnose vehicle issues and determine the necessary repairs or solutions.\n\n· Provide roadside assistance, including fuel delivery, tire repairs or changes, jump-starts, and battery replacements.\n\n· Ensure the safety of yourself and the driver while performing repairs or services on the roadside.\n\n· Maintain accurate records of services provided, including the nature of the problem, the steps taken to resolve it, and any additional recommendations made.\n\n· Communicate effectively with drivers, explaining the problem and the proposed solution in a clear and professional manner.\n\n· Utilise the onboard kit to resolve issues efficiently, ensuring drivers can continue their journey with confidence.\n\n· Stay up to date with the latest vehicle technology and repair techniques to enhance your expertise.\n\n· Collaborate with other team members and occasionally provide support to other regions when necessary.\n\n· Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.\n\nSkills/Experience:\n\n· A current Category B driving licence is necessary\n\n· NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (desirable)\n\n· Demonstrate empathy and excellent customer service skills\n\n· Experience of the Motor Repair industry (essential)\n\n· Experience of lone working (desirable)\n\n· Utilise and apply up-to-date vehicle repair techniques\n\n· Display and utilise best practice and first-class Health & Safety behaviours\n\n· Collaboration with dispatch team to improve the customer claims journey\n\nAbout Aligra:\n\nAligra has been a trusted recruitment partner since 2007, collaborating with leading logistics companies across the UK.
