Purpose This senior actuarial role is key to support the growth and development of the DB area and primarily our member experience activities. The purpose of this role is to assess calculation requirements, provide technical support and guidance alongside completion of member options calculations utilising varying inputs required. This role will also involve working collaboratively to develop capabilities and test bespoke, automation member option tools within the DB Business. The role holder will also be able to provide other actuarial calculations which may include, but not limited to, new business and true up activities to support our growth agenda. About the Role Provide calculation support for standard and non-standard member option calculations Analyse and upload new scheme benefit data to enable automated tool to run to maximise outputs and reduce levels of manual calculations support. Support development and refinement of features of the member option calculation tool. Test and review automated member calculation results for accuracy and complete UAT on the tool. Provide actuarial calculations as needed to support DB growth strategy, for example, assist Head of Post-Transaction Services in accurate and timely delivery of data true ups. Engage with development and usage of large language models in DB to support strategy to scale with technology. Line management responsibility and oversight of DB Member Calculation Actuarial Analyst team. Skills and Knowledge Problem analysis and resolution skills. Ability to work without close supervision Capable of working collaboratively, effectively and understand resource Strong IT skills including Excel and programming languages, and a keen attitude to learn where these skills don’t exist implications/Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Open minded and willing to engage in challenge. High degree of understanding of the products and services provided by the Group, the markets, and the regulatory / legal framework that the Group operates within. Knowledge of the DB de-risking market, pricing of DB liabilities and associated metrics, Annuity products and pricing systems, Solvency II capital requirements and Reinsurance arrangements Experience Experience gained in the Life Insurance industry, including reinsurance experience Experience in the bulk annuity market. Defined benefit experience is desirable. Coding experience is desirable, for example Julia, Python and/or VBA.
