Role: Contract Master Production Scheduler
Location: Cheltenham
Duration: 6 months
Days/hours: Monday - Friday 37 hours (Early Friday finish)
Pay rate: Negotiable
Start date: ASAP
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for the process of creating & maintaining the Master Plans in the ERP system.
This includes establishing a plan which satisfies the Customer requirements, meets the Inventory targets and is supported by a commitment from Production and a Load & Capacity validation.
Responsibilities:
1. To establish the Master Production Schedule in the ERP system, meeting both:
o The Customer requirements
o The split between the various configurations expected by the Customers (if applicable)
o The target stock level as per the Company policy
2. Ensure the plans are adhering to the various planning parameters as and when required: Safety Time, Safety Stock, Quotas & workshare, etc.
3. To lead both MPS monthly and weekly meetings with all required parties, in order to collectively agree & commit on a master plan on a 2 year horizon.
4. To assess the feasibility of the master schedules that are being proposed in terms of capacity requirements.
5. Monitor the adherence to the weekly plan, running the root cause analysis in case of deviation to the plan and establishing an action plan to avoid any reoccurrence.
6. Monitor the consistency of the Master Production Schedules with the Production Plan (assembly & machining levels).
7. Maintain MPS related KPIs for the site.
8. To attend and support the Sales & Operations Planning processes: Demand Reviews, Production Plan reviews, Internal Supply reviews, Load & Capacity reviews, etc.
9. Contribute to improving the Planning processes.
10. To contribute to the definition of the Global Data processes.
Skills Required:
1. Production Planning and Scheduling: Knowledge of advanced production scheduling tools and techniques, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MEDS, MES), and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
2. Inventory Management: Understanding of inventory control methods to manage raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
3. Data Analysis: Analyse trends, forecast demand, and optimise the production schedule. Utilising Excel, data analysis tools, and software to track production metrics.
4. Capacity Planning: Assess manufacturing capabilities and adjust production schedules based on resource availability.
5. Familiarity with lean principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency in the production process.
6. Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain principles to align production schedules with the availability of raw materials, components, and logistics.
