As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will involve working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them build confidence and achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment. SEN TA Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Help students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation. Support students with daily activities, including personal care if required. Work alongside teachers to modify learning materials and resources. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators. Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times. Encourage independence and positive engagement in learning. Collaborate with other staff members, therapists, and parents to support student development. For SEN Teaching Assistant role, what we need: Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, or other learning difficulties as a SEN Teaching Assistant. A caring and patient nature with a passion for supporting students with additional needs. Ability to use a child-centred approach to help students progress. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Resilience and adaptability to work in a challenging but rewarding environment. A good standard of written and spoken English. An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a willingness to undergo background checks.
