Procurement Category Manager - Indirects | £55,000 to £65,000 | 20% bonus | healthcare | Pension | + further benefits | Reading - 2 days a week - 5 minutes from Reading station | A UK Technology and Communications business
This is one of a few new roles working for a really interesting UK brand who are transforming the way business's and people communicate with each other. After a recently appointed, new Procurement Director who has joined to build a strategic procurement function in order to support the company's ambitious growth plans.
This role will support the Procurement Director and Senior Category Managers across all areas of spend from a strategic approach. Some examples of what this person will likely be involved in is: Networks, Field Services, Marketing, HR, Technology, Utilities, FM and Professional Services
Role and responsibilities:
* Reporting into the Procurement Director who has joined the business to transform and grow the procurement team
* Create relevant category strategies through to the delivery and performance including year on year annualised savings
* Lead and manage a more junior member of the team
* Develop category plans and strategies to ensure alignment for the group, leveraging suppliers to support local offices
* Support the development of category strategies to a clear and prioritised pipeline of sourcing projects
* Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders from Director to Board level to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge
* Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a rounded knowledge of a suppliers performance
* Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback
* On top over delivering strategic projects, ensure the business is getting the best service in line with cost efficiency
Experience and requirements:
* Proven category management experience across a wide range of Indirect Categories
* Worked for a fast paced and growing business, being able to work at a fast pace and can adapt to change
* Ability to engage, negotiate and influence senior stakeholders up to Director level+
* Strong stakeholder management, using different approaches to type, level and maturity of relationship
* Analytical mindset and have strong communication skills to present ideas to the business
* Worked in a large and cross-functional procurement team
* MCIPS qualification nice to have, but not essential
