Position: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Tameside is looking for a calm and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025. This role will focus on assisting students with behavioural challenges, helping them develop self-regulation skills, and fostering a positive, respectful school environment.
Responsibilities:
* One-on-One Behavioural Support: Provide tailored one-on-one guidance to students exhibiting behavioural difficulties, helping them identify triggers and develop strategies for positive self-management.
* Classroom Assistance and Management: Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused learning environment and assisting students who may need redirection or additional encouragement to engage positively with their peers and schoolwork.
* Develop and Implement Behaviour Plans: Work closely with the pastoral and teaching teams to create personalised behaviour support plans, regularly monitoring progress and adjusting approaches as needed.
* Parent and Family Liaison: Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and engaging them in strategies that reinforce positive behaviour both at school and at home.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
