Our client, EB Designs is a UK based company operating in the UK & Internationally with a large and prestigious portfolio. They specialise in store design, product development, project management and installations within a wide range of retail environments.
The role:
As the Project Manager, you will be client-facing and responsible for ensuring the delivery of the client’s new store development programme. This will include the project management of the store programme from initial brief & feasibility through to store handover/opening, including delivery of (Stage 1 / CAT-A) and supply of shop fit components and key brand elements (Stage 2 / CAT-B) to stores within the UK & EU.
Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Receive project briefs and agree project objectives with the company’s Heads of Projects & Head of Design.
2. Oversee, monitor, manage and report progress on the Design Process (DIP).
3. Work closely with the Heads of and Programme manager to plan projects into the global programme.
4. Oversee project programme to ensure full delivery of Standalone and multi-fascia stores from feasibility, acquisition, design, stage 1 and stage 2 through to handover.
5. Work in conjunction with the client team on new concepts/fixture developments coordinating and managing the design agency and fixture development team to deliver on cost and programme.
6. Attend and lead site meetings with appointed Architects, Quantity Surveyors & Principal Contractors (Project Team) to understand actions required and be the onsite representative for the client during Stage 1 & Stage 2 phases of the projects.
7. Oversee and deliver Stage 2 fit out in conjunction with the various suppliers.
8. In conjunction with the main contractors and architect provide site reports to the project team.
9. Ensure site sign-off/practical completion is obtained with the construction team at Stage 1 and Stage 2 within agreed timescales.
10. Carry out handover to store retail operations team and facilities management.
11. Ensure all brand specific equipment is coordinated with site project team/client brand team and installed within the project programme.
12. Ensure clear lines of communication between the construction team, project team and retail operations team to ensure they are fully aware of the Project deliverables.
13. Ensure quality standards are maintained on delivery of shop fit components into stores.
14. Identify areas for improvement and promote best work practice on-site.
15. Organise the various contractors/suppliers working on an ad hoc project if required.
16. Monitor suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure guidelines and standard details are maintained with KPI reporting.
17. At final account work with project finance/accounts team to reconcile final account within agreed timescales.
Person specification:
1. +2/3 Years Experience in retail project management/construction/retail fit out (Essential)
2. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and troubleshoot during a project (Essential)
3. Able to work well under tight deadlines and prioritise work (Essential)
4. Good communicator with excellent organisational skills (Essential)
5. Efficient in Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of business ERP systems (Essential)
6. Able to travel across the UK & Europe if required dependent on project location (Essential)
7. Good commercial understanding of financial aspects of project management with experience of budgetary and cost control (Desirable)
8. Work as part of a team with the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers alike (Desirable)
9. Punctual, reliable and hard-working (Desirable)
10. Able to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality (Desirable)
