We currently have an opportunity to join the Property & Place Team as Building Maintenance & Projects Lead. The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified building surveyor looking for a leadership role. They will have the skills and knowledge to manage a team of professionals and deliver high-quality building projects and services for a diverse range of properties.
Your role
As the Building Maintenance and Projects Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of up to 4 staff and external consultants, providing a comprehensive and professional building surveying design, inspection, contract administration, and project management service to internal and external stakeholders.
You will also provide strategic direction and leadership to the team and act as the technical expert in building pathology, defect diagnosis, and facilities management related matters, ensuring compliance with health and safety, CDM regulations, and other industry standards.
What you will need
As the successful candidate you will need to have:
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction, building surveying or a related discipline.
* A professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent such as MCIOB.
* Significant experience in building surveying and project management.
* Experience in managing staff and consultants, budgets, contracts, and projects.
* Knowledge of building pathology, defects diagnosis, and remedial works.
* Knowledge of compliance matters including legionella, fire safety, asbestos, and CDM.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
