We are excited to offer a Band 7 Occupational Therapist role within our Complex Health Needs Service (CHNS), a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of specialist healthcare professionals. In this role, you will provide assessment, therapeutic interventions, and support for adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs, and autism, while contributing to innovative, evidence-based initiatives that enhance quality of life and wellbeing. This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week whichinvolves regular community visits from your base location in Carrswood Day Services, Bath. Core hours for the service are 06:00 to 20:00, with typical working hours being Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. You will work flexibly between your home and the office base, ensuring the best support for the individuals you serve. If youre passionate about making a difference and eager to grow your skills in a supportive environment, wed love to hear from you Main duties of the job As a Band 7Occupational Therapist your days will be varied but responsibilities may include: Manage a Complex Caseload: Use advanced clinical reasoning to deliver evidence-based, client-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with complex needs. Community-Based Interventions: Conduct assessments and deliver interventions across community settings, including family homes, residential and supported living services, day services, and community facilities. Specialist Risk Assessments: Undertake and advise on complex risk assessments, addressing moving and handling, daily living activities, and community safety to ensure effective risk management. Support Planning and Collaboration: Develop person-centred support plans in partnership with service users, carers, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring an integrated and comprehensive care approach. Equipment and Environmental Adaptations: Assess, recommend, and implement adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to promote independence and safety. Leadership and Supervision: Provide professional guidance and supervision to junior therapists, assistant practitioners, and support staff, acting as a clinical expert within the service. Service Improvement and Professional Development: Contribute to service reviews, audits, and policy development while maintaining professional competence through CPD, research, and lifelong learning.
